According to an article on the Dallas News website, the Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) regulates about 15,000 products including toys, circular saws, swimming pools and ATVs. The CPSC website is a great way for the average person to research recalls and injury reports involving consumer products. According to the article, most deaths involved the use of all terrain vehicles. The information collected by the CPSC can come from many sources including the company that manufactured the product and from a periodic survey of emergency room injuries. Recently, there have been several toys recalled including the recall of children’s toy/book that was sold with a squeaker that could be a choking hazard for a child playing with it.
