Earlier this month, a Dallas jury awarded $6.3 million to a doctor who was fired by his employer after he voiced concerns about how anesthesia services were being billed. The lawsuit alleged that the anesthesia group made up charges of medical incompetence and rude behavior including false allegations of alcohol and drug abuse. According to the doctor’s attorney, the lost job and the damage to the doctor’s reputation cost the doctor millions in lost income.
